16-19 Bursary
In MCS Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that none of our students are disadvantaged by wider issues and that they are fully supported in their study program. To support them, our students can apply for the 16-19 bursary; the 16 to 19 bursary fund provides financial support to help students overcome specific barriers to participation so they can remain in education. There are two forms of bursary that students are able to apply for:
Vulnerable Bursary
This bursary is for specific groups of students that are in the following categories
- young people in care
- care leavers
- young people in receipt of Income Support/Universal Credit
- Disabled young people in receipt of both Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payments and Employment Support Allowance.
Discretionary Bursary
Students are able to apply for this bursary if their total household income is less than £25,000 a year and/or the student is eligible for free school meals.
Please see the bursary policy including an application form for more information on how we administer the bursaries and contact the Sixth Form team for more information.
