Old Brackleians
The Old Brackleians is a long-established society of “old boys” and “old girls” of Magdalen College School, Brackley, Brackley High School for Girls and Brackley County Secondary School. The society aims to maintain a means of communication between the school's past students, the staff and the school itself. We do this by the production of Newsletters, currently twice a year, containing a summary of events and material of interest to members of the Society. We are arranging one reunion a year to coincide with Remembrance Day when we have a service in the Chapel on the Saturday and lunch afterwards.
The society aims to assist other groups to organise events and currently biennial dinners are being held at Magdalen College Oxford. Over the years many students have received financial help from us for their studies or expeditions. In recent times various works have been paid for by the OBs such as the Chapel organ overhaul, a new carpet and an altar frontal in the Chancel. The School has benefited from the large sum of money donated to ensure "Specialist School Status" at MCS. In 2004 the total cost of the "Forrester Centre" was met by the OBs and presently the school is looking at developing the lake and old swimming pool for conservation and as a field study centre.
"Old we may be but our thoughts are for the future of Magdalen College School."
Membership is open to all former students in Brackley of Magdalen College School, the High School for Girls and Northamptonshire County Secondary School, and we keep a register of those members.
